Many devices have already got the opportunity to access the new version of Xiaomi’s new interface, MIUI 11, introduced by the Chinese manufacturer a few months ago. Models from various categories have already been updated, either in their Chinese ROM or in the Global ROM. Now its time for Redmi 5 and Redmi Note 5.
Both handsets have started receiving the MIUI 11 update in the Chinese ROM with version number 188.8.131.52.PEICNXM and weighs approximately 677 MB in total, including all the features expected for this new Xiaomi interface. Here we see the addition of an enhanced dark mode, a slight visual enhancement, and several bug fixes.
It is worth noting that there is no fixed date for the global release of the update for these models. So all we have left is to wait. If your device is in the Chinese ROM, you can wait for the notification to arrive alarming you of the update or try to look for the update through the operating system settings menu.
A few days back, Xiaomi Poco F1/Pocophone F1 and Redmi Note 7 started getting the MIUI 11 update with build number 184.108.40.206.PEJMIXM on Poco F1. However, for now, the update is available for selected units only.
