As much as it tries to keep it a secret, LG ended up confirming all the specifications and features of the new LG Velvet before its official launch on May 7. The information was published on the manufacturer’s own Korean site.
So, now we know that the new LG Velvet is a premium mid-range phone and that it has everything to draw the attention of the consumer. Featuring a new design language, the device features rear cameras within the concept of “raindrops”.
Design and Specifications
The construction of the new Velvet is made of glass and metal, with slightly curved edges. The screen is a 6.8-inch FullVision OLED, with a 20.5:9 aspect ratio and FHD+ resolution. In addition to using a high-quality display, the new LG Velvet offers an in-display fingerprint sensor, and a waterdrop notch to accommodate the 16MP selfie camera.
According to LG, the device also brings sound technology with Artificial Intelligence (AI) to automatically analyze the content being played and choose the best audio quality. Functionality should be the highlight and further expand the power of stereo speakers. Finally, we also have the presence of the 5G connection.
With the shape of “drops”, the rear cameras are located in the upper corner of the phone. The main lens is 48 MP, while the secondary is an 8MP ultra-wide and the tertiary lens has a depth effect of 5MP. Below the sensors, we also have an LED flash.
As we are talking about a premium intermediary, the LG Velvet features Snapdragon 765 processor. The chipset works in conjunction with 8GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. If necessary, the MicroSD card is also supported.
The battery has 4,300 mAh capacity and supports 30W fast charging and 10W wireless charging. Velvet comes out of the box with Android 10 running under LG’s proprietary interface.
